I bought this flat iron in January and noticed the plates discoloring. I have thick, coarse curly hair and need it pretty hot to get my hair straight so I thought that’s why the ceramic coating started to come off the plates. I returned it for a new one in March but it’s still doing the same thing.

I got this straightener recently for christmas this december of 08 and it workss very good, the price is good, the ceramic coating is good and i really like it! but im only on my first month with it i dont know what will happen later with it after its been used alot.

This is my second BaByliss hair straightener, my first one i had for just a little over a year and it stopped working when my one year warranty had just expired… i was dissapointed…but i liked this brand/straightener alot so i went and bought another one EXACTLY like it! other than that i have never had any other problems with the plates, this one is going on 2 1/2 years.

I have never used a “flat iron”….and I spoke to my hair dresser the other day and said…”you should try one, Mari”….Odd thing is I have one way in the back of my cupboard in my bathroom and I think possibly a friend left the iron at my home- and it’s been years in my bathroom closet hoping the rightful owner would claim it…..
I already have semi straight fine blonde hair and I have always used a “round brush” and blow dryer and hated that I could never get my hair “straight” in the places I needed it to be- Well, I have used this iron for 3 days now and checked your brand out to see if it was a quality Iron and to my surprise (a complete “shock” actually)….It is in consumer reports as one of the top 10 and it’s 100.00- for years I thought some friend left a cheap straight iron at my home…..since it’s been years and no one has claimed it!!! IT IS MINE NOW!!!! and I love the way my hair looks and feels- just thought you should know….Thanks BaByliss Pro! you and I are going to be good buddies and have great hair days!!!
