My 15 yr old son has curly red hair thats somewhat course. He
always feels beter when his hair is straightened but its not easy and it takes time to do in the mornings. I have tried a few different straighteners, inexpensive ones and I saw these on sale at CVS. Well you get what you pay for, if you have managable, average hair, this product will be just fine. Most straighteners under 40.00 wil work on that type of hair. But I am going to try one of the more expensive brands, maybe the Conair Nano steam straightener for him.

Never had the greatest luck with Revlon products. Their quality is made for already pin straight/slight wavy hair (essentially East Asian and Scandinavian hair.) For any hair type with the slightest curl definition, don’t use Revlon.
Review by Amy
I always felt like this was a good flat iron, but only on the highest setting. My hair is naturally straight, and this always helped me style my hair nicely. However, once I used one of my friend’s Paul Mitchell flat irons and another friend’s Chi, I”ve quickly discarded my Revlon. You don’t realize how awful this flat iron is until you try something that is actually high quality. The plates on this iron just grab at your hair, and it isn’t smooth at all. After using a flat iron that really leaves your hair feeling silky smooth, the Revlon just feels like you’re destroying your hair and creating more split ends because of how rough it is on your hair, along the same lines as one of those awful “wet to dry” flat irons.
If you’re on a tight budget, this is the flat iron for you. It does the job and is really cheap, but you get what you pay for. If this is going to be a product you use regularly, invest in something much nicer than this, you’ll never look back.

I BOUGHT THIS STRAIGHTENER FOR MY DAUGHTER AND IT DID NOT LEAVE HER HAIR STRAIIGHT, SILKY , NOR SHINY. IT WAS JUST A WAIST OF MONEY. SHE HAS CURLY HAIR AND WHENEVER SHE STRAIGHTENS IT WITH THIS STRAIGTHNER OR ANOTHER ONE ITS ALWAYS DULL AND STIFF! IT LEAVES HER REALLY NASTY SPLIT ENDS.
Review by Nanette
This straightener is a waste of money! Although it was fairly cheap, it still is not worth buying. It did not work on my naturally curly hair without making about 10 passes on same section of hair, and it didn’t really work on my nieces hair which is just a little wavy. I returned it and got my money back!
I bought the straightner last week…but its worthless…doesnt work on my frizzy hair…eventhough its inexpensive but it makes no sense to waste money on it….i’d buy an expensive one…

I got this straightener and i have very wavy/coarse hair. it didn’t do anything to it, even on the higest heat setting, and it always felt like i wuz giving myself split ends. turns out i wuz, cuz wen i went to my hairdresser she told me 2 let it go curly 4 a while just 2 give my hair a break and let it grow back to its normal strength. After this 1 my mom got me a much better 1 made by BaByliss, the blue 1, which works sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much better. Pls do not get this 1 it is a complete waste of ur $$$.
This is the worst straightener. My first straightener was a revlon, and I had used it for a while, but it didn’t do much to my hair at all. Then after that one broke within a week i bought this straightener by Revlon. I took it out of the package plugged it up to the wall but it didn’t work. Never by any product by Revlon you will be lucky if it even lasts for a week. It’s cheap stuff.
This straightener is a waste of money. It took forever to straightener my curly hair. It caused my hair to have static and dried out my ends. I do not recommend this product.

Well, I have never been happy with this straightener. I wanted to throw it away right after a few uses but I thought maybe because of my hair type or most straighteners are the same, but today I decided to dump it and google for a better one. I am so glad I got to this website to read all the reviews posted here about this product. Now I am confident to throw this straightener away without any guilt I always have to use the highest setting but it still doesn’t do anything to my hair. The plates on this iron just grab at my hair and pull a lot of my hair away, and it isn’t smooth at all. I am afraid I will go bald if I keep using this straightener. Please DO NOT buy this product. I wish I have seen these reviews earlier.

I think this was my first straightener I bought. I really didn’t like it… It wouldn’t straighten my hair and it left my hair frizzy!
Review by Bree
This is not the best straightener that I’ve ever used but it does the job. You cant grip it really hard or else it won’t really straighten it that well and even though you have to go over the section a couple of times still it does the job. its not really pin straight hair or anything but I can live with it for right now until i get some money to get a new one. Also another thing to remember is to never use this straightener if you showered before you use it because it leave your hair frizzy. mostly any straightener that you use, or at least i have, if i took a shower before i used it and blow dried my hair really well it still left it frizzy and it felt like it was really poofy in the back. What i do is i let my hair dry in the towel for about 10 to 15 minutes. Then i take my hair and i spray the Cost Cutters Get it flat spray, that actually does work very well, and spray that in my hair and smooth it down with my hands. Then after i spray that where i want it(i usually spray it in the spots where it gets really wavey during the day)i put John Fridas frizz control serum that so that its not terribly frizzy in the morning so i can work with my hair better. Then i spray some more of the get it flat spray into my hair and smooth that in and then i put it into a low pony tail. even though they say that its bad to put it into a pony tail when its wet because its more likely that it will break, if you have nice healthy hair that you take care of everyday then you should be perfectly fine. but if your hair feels different or anything like weaker if you have it in a pony tail then i recommend to not ever do that again. remember to always brush your hair before you straighten it so that you get some of the hairs that are supposed to fall out so new ones can come out get out before you straighten it. also when your about to straighten make sure that its not a really thick piece and that its about probably under an inch to an inch wide or else it wont really work that well. also NEVER START OUT USING THE HOTTEST SETTING WHILE 1ST USING THIS STRAIGHTENER OR ANY STRAIGHTENER FOR THAT MATTER! always start with about 5 on this straightener because its not healthy for your hair if you start out with the hottest setting. if it doesn’t work then go up a little bit like 8 or 10 and just work your way up. also i think that this straightener is made for shorter hair and that what i have so i think thats why it works well on my hair. even thought it isnt pin straight or anything and it might start to go back to normal in a couple of places (like for me after about 3 hours these two places on the back usually start going back to wavey but they usually do that anyway no matter what i do) it still does the job and it gets me through the day until i can afford to buy myself a different straightener. and if you have short hair and really dont want to spend $100.00 or more on something that you just use about once a day then i would recommend on looking into the miniglide straightener. just go to xxxxxxx and look at their straighteners. you have to buy some products to go with it but the maxiglide straighteners use steam to straighten your hair instead of all that heat and it makes even thick course hair silky smooth and straight. they miniglide straightener however does not use steam and it still uses heat but it is a mix between ceramic and aluminum. and if you want to learn more about the maxiglide straighteners then go to google and type up does the maxiglide straightener really work and see if you can find any reviews or anything about it. by the way the miniglide straightener is only $29.99 and i think that you can only get it online but for a straightener that has been really made well (because the people that started the straightener spent 6 years researching) its a pretty good price than the CHI straighteners and other professional ones that sometimes burn out really fast. i hope that this helped you learn more about how to straighten your hair really good and about other options that you have if your not happy with this straightener.

Also another really good straightener to get is a CHI or a Sedu because i have heard those really work well. With the CHI you might have to get some products to go with it but according to the reviews that I’ve read it works really well. I know that CHI’s are really expensive but on xxxxxxxx they only cost about $74.95 when it was priced at $190.00 before. that’s a giant discount. I’ve also heard that the Sedu straighteners are really good to. I read some reviews and alot of people said that they had a CHI or another type of straightener before and they changed to the Sedu and they could see a huge difference. If you’re not really sure what kind of straightener you want to get (like if you don’t believe what I’m telling you) then go to xxxxxxxx and look at the straighteners that they have their because they usually change the prices to a really inexpensive price. Not like from $100.00 to $20.00 but to a price which more people can afford and make their pocket feel better about it:) I know that in my last comment i put that the CHI ones burned out really fast but I didn’t know this information before and I thought it was the manufactures fault but it actually just depends how you take care of it. and another thing IF YOU BUY A CHI DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT RAP THE CORD AROUND THE STRAIGHTENER BECAUSE IT WILL WEAKEN THE WIRES INSIDE CAUSING IT THE STRAIGHTENER TO BURN OUT AND NOT WORK THAT WELL. again i hope that this helps and if i learn anything different ill put in another comment to make it correct
i love these flats irons. they are the best ones i used thus far. i would never want to go out and spend alot of money on these expensive and worthless flat irons. I love these and i would never go to any other flat iron this is the best!!!!

I bought this hair straightener, because my other one broke. Well, this product sucks. It killed my hair and it doesn’t straighten well either. less than an hour after using it, it would look like my hair wasn’t straightened ( I’ve never had this problem with other brands). I do not recommend it at ALL. My hair got so damaged it breaks apart.
I bought a revlon hair straightener a few months ago. I use it daily, and I take good care of my hair products. But today, while using my flat iron, it sparked and scared the crap out of me. I will never buy another revlon hair straightener again!
My friend has one of these and we got home from the pool and our hair was curly really curly and so we dryed our hair and still it was curly curly as in wavy tight curls we used the conair and her hair is thin so it was straight and smooth as butter, but my hair is more thick and we used on mine section by section and well… it didint work so well so i recomnd the conair for thin not too curly hair.

I have wavy to curly long frizzy hair and it took the frizz away and it is shiny but it doesnt straighten as well as i wanted. I have to use the highest heat setting to get it to straighten at all. Overall this is a good protduct for someone who doesn’t have money for more expensive ones.<3
